Labor Day Weekend Trip...

On Labor Day weekend, Dad decided
to take us on a trip to a historic site from the Civil War.
I thought I'd share some pictures from our trip...

My personal favorite part was
looking at the different uniforms :)
...The Union

...The Confederate

Here is an old book...

We, then, went outside to the fort.
It consisted of hills that the Confederate soldiers built
to help with land combat and even hidden rooms in them...

We also enjoyed walking on a bridge by the marsh.
There were a lot of crabs ...
(we used to see these all the time back in SC)

Here are my precious siblings and me.... :)

And this was an interesting tree we enjoyed sitting in...
Daddy and Mama

At the store, my sisters each got a bonnet
and Will got 2 civil war caps.
On the way home, I wore one of his caps with him :-)

The weather was really nice
and that made the trip so enjoyable.
Will was particularly happy to go... he loooooves history!

Before closing this post, I wanted to share
a short video of me playing my steel guitar.
I haven't bought myself a book to learn with, yet,
but I did somewhat figure out "Sweet Hour of Prayer" on it!!

lol... I really need to get a book!

I hope you're all enjoying your week!

I only recently found out what a steel guitar is, and it is pretty neat! I also recently found out what a dulcimer is, and I fell in love. Someday, I want to get one and learn to play it. :)

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

That is neat. I went to some battlefields more than a decade ago, but they weren't like that! I enjoyed your video!

Hello Alexandra!

I don't think I've ever commented here before, but I've been following your blogs for quite a while now, and I love them! :)

This was very interesting to look at. I love that kind of history stuff too. :)

Thanks for keeping up your blog! It's always an encouragement and an inspiration to me! :)
By the way, I love the photo of you and your siblings by the fence. It's beautiful. :)
