Appointments, Baking, Chemistry, Dress, and Everything Fun!

Well, as you can, likely, tell by the title,
I've been very busy lately!
Yesterday we went over to our friends' house
and Stephani and I did our science experiments.
She's doing Apologia's General Science
and did the experiment with baking soda,
vinegar, a 2 liter bottle and balloon.
And I did an experiment with my elements!
I used the sodium ferrocyanide,
colbat chloride, ferric ammonium sulfate,
sodium carbonate, and something else I can't remember!
Anyway, LOTS of different colors! It was really neat!
(We didn't really get any good pictures)

Then we came home and I sewed a dress...

I used the Renaissance dress pattern's skirt
with my regular pattern's bodice, to make the skirt much fuller.
Mom has a matching one too.

We also had one of those ‘fun nights with the camera’!
Be prepared… ;o)

LOL!!!

And when I was blowing the leaves Saturday,
(I'm still out of breath from it! LOL)
I came across a cute little guy…

Remember!
‘The 15 minutes it takes you to read this post,
you could save 15% on car insurance!’
LOL!

Today I worked on some schoolwork and
we just arrived home a little while ago from shopping.
We bought LOTS of fabric and
will be busy with sewing for a while!
We also picked up something to take to a fellowship
after church tomorrow night.
I'll be baking lemon bars tonight, too! Mmmm!

Tomorrow I have a doctor appointment an hour away.
It's worth the drive for us, though,
because we get to eat at a favorite place while there!

I thought I’d share something that we got in the mail
(junk mail) for a coupon to eat at Arby’s…
The ad was kinda funny...

ROFLOL!

I hope everyone's week is going great so far.

who dwelleth on high,
Who humbleth himself to behold
the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!"
Psalms 113:5&6

how great is the sum of them!"
Psalms 139:17

Hello! I'm new here!

I read through your posts and notes from "Before You Meet Prince Charming" - I just ordered the book today and can't wait to read it!

It is so refreshing to see other young girls who are committed to serving and waiting on the Lord!

Thanks for your encouragement! You seem to have a lot of wisdom.

Love, love, love the dress!

Ally,

Love your new dress! Thanks for the comment. I couldn't remember for the life of me what those two guy's names were! LOL! Oh me, I like your Gieco-Gecko thing. I'll have to use that sometime! *smile* (that will be my blog title!)

Hello!
I do Apoligia Science, I loved the experiment about the balloon!
What grade are you in? I'm in 7th, and also homeschooled!

I love your new dress. I really like how you combined the two patterns.
Those pics are very funny. Just like the Arby's advertisement.
Hmmm...he reminded me of the Geioco gecko too! I would have been very scared to find him in the leaves. lol.

You remind me of my younger sister - she loves chemistry, biology, and all that deep sciencey stuff. :-) She had a lot of Apologia science too when she was in high school (she graduated in June).

Regarding your comment: That's an answer to prayer that your doctor figured out what you have! I mean I'm sure it's not fun that you have it, but at least they'll know how to treat you! At my last doctor's appointment I found out that I actually was tested for hyperthyroidism a couple years ago, but the test came back negative. I think I need to keep better records of all my tests. :-) I posted about my latest results on my blog. With the ultrasound they found a small cyst on my kidney. It hasn't been the cause of my tummy problems, but I guess it's good they found it. Now I have to have a CT scan in a couple weeks.

We actually found some dairy-free chocolate chips that I used for the cookies, and they don't seem to bother me too much. I've noticed that the fancier brands of chocolate chips tend not to have dairy in them, unlike ones from Costco for example.

Sorry about the long comment! Have a good night!

Your dress turned out lovely! I like how you added the full skirt to it - full skirts are always my favorites.

I've done Apologia science and enjoyed it since 7th grade. Currently I'm doing Physics. However, I haven't done the experiments except in Physical Science - I'm just not very interested in them! :-)

Those pictures of you and your mom are too funny!

We live in Kansas City, KS, and the festival is in Bonner Springs (very close to Kansas City).

Thanks for your comment!

Actually, I'm in 12th grade. I did The Human Body last year, Chemistry the year before that, Biology before that. Physical Science kind of took two grades to complete, since I wasn't as strong in math when I started. Physics isn't my thing, but I'm getting through.
