Young Maiden's Daybook - May 11

Today…
May 11, 2009

Outside my window…
Sprinkling rain and gloomy clouds.
I woke up to loud bombing...
practice here on base.

I am thinking…
I should really post between my daybooks!

I am thankful for…

My wonderful mother!!
She is so special and precious to me
and I love her soooo much.

I am wearing…
My yellow dress with flowers.

I am reading…
1 Chronicles, Psalms, Proverbs, James
"Shadow of the Almighty" by Elisabeth Elliot;
"The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey;

"Bruised Reed" by Thomas Lambie
"A Woman's Walk With God" by Elizabeth George
... I'm such a terrible reader!
I can never seem to find time to sit and finish a book!

I am creating…

Various crocheted projects.
Also need to arrange a song for next Sunday.

One of my favorite things…
Flowers! (Especially roses.)
My Irises I've planted 2 years ago finally bloomed.
I'm also awaiting blossoms from my Gladioluses.

For education this week…

Foreign languages.

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning...

Teaching and interacting with children.

A spiritual lesson I'm learning...
Depending on the Lord...
I'm afraid I struggle with a lot of self-confidence.

A godly character trait I plan to work on…
Charity... suffereth long, is kind, envieth not, vaunteth not itself,
isn't puffed up, behaveth not unseemly, seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, rejoiceth not in iniquity,
rejoiceth in truth, beareth all things, believeth all things,
hopeth all things, endureth all things, and never faileth!

Scripture I am memorizing…
1 John 3

For the rest of the week…
Teaching piano tomorrow,
1/2 & 1/2 fellowship at church Friday,
cleaning, working on my foreign languages,
and whatever else God sees fit to make happen!

A picture I’d like to share...

This is one of my Irises that bloomed.

I know I am a bad reader also. It is not that I can't find a time to read, but it is that I want to spend all my time on the computer. We have at least six irises. Come to my blog tomorrow to see the flowers we have in our back yard. The irises are in our front yard. I also should find some ideas to post another entry between daybooks. [...my cats like to lay in wierd postions...for example...]

Blessings,
Miss Alli

Wow, Alexandra!!! What a beautiful photo! That is worthy to be entered into a contest! What camera do you have? I'm amazed at how sharp it is - do you have a Nikon?

The rest of your post is nice!

Thank you again for starting this day book! I look forward to it every week!

Christ's blessings,
Shelby L'Rae

Oooh, I am working on memorizing 1 Corinthians 13. It is one of my favorite chapters.

I don't usually modify crochet patterns unless it isn't working out like I thought it should. I do like to try making up my own patterns, though.

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Oh, I just saw another comment that you left on my blog, about the Rosetta Stone. Actually, we have the Rosetta Stone for Spanish, but when we got our new desktop computer, it didn't work on it. Now we only have one computer that it will work on, and that computer won't recognize any disks. So, we don't do Rosetta Stone right now!

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!
