Young Maiden's Daybook - November 23

Today…
November 23, 2009

Outside my window…

The sun is... rising!!!
(yeah! I actually got up early this morning!)

I am thinking…
Of the song "It Wouldn't Be Enough".
(which song I'll be (hopefully!) composing a steel guitar
arrangement of this week for my my and Stephani's CD!)

"If I had all the riches this world has to give
and the comfort that it brings, never needing anything;
I could search the whole world over far and wide
tryin' to buy this precious love that was sent from heavn' above.
But it wouldn't be enough, no it wouldn't be enough
to buy one splinter of the tree that Jesus died on.
And I couldn't pay the price for a single drop of blood
that was shed for my salvation...."

I am thankful…
For another day on this earth,
and for all the people I share my days with.

I am wearing...
Sleepytime attire for now!

I am reading…
2 Chronicles, Proverbs, Ezekiel, Mark;
"Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris
"Choosing Gratitude" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss with Mama ;o)
"Passionate Housewives Desperate For God"
by Jennie Chancey & Stacy McDonald

I am creating…

A scarf that I'm going to post about, a wool shawl,
homemade Christmas gifts for my immediate family,
finishing a cross-stitch project for my best friend,
and a list of things to make (when I get more yarn) for
my etsy shop.

One of my favorite things…
A nice big, warm, morning drink
inside of my big mug that mama bought me!
(chai green tea this morning)

For education this week…

I really need to call around for some field trips for our HS group;
"homecollege" a.k.a Daughter at Home University =)
preparing to be a Keeper at Home, for the mission field,
and studying in-depth Ecclesiology.
Also getting fluent in Modern Greek.

A keeper at home skill I am learning/using...
Knitting :-)
And I've brought back out cross-stitching.

A spiritual lesson I'm learning...
That not everyone has the same convictions I do,
and I need to have an active grace with those who differ.

A godly character trait I plan to work on…
Praying without ceasing.
All throughout the day, just like I'd be talking to a friend.

S cripture I am memorizing…
"And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these
little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple,
verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward."
Matthew10:42
Reminding me how I am to treat children as Jesus would...
even by doing something as small as getting a cup of water.

I'm praying for…
The Lord's guidance through my life.
That He would show me His truths from His Word,
and help me to be forgiving and have grace toward others.
The Lord to bless and to grow our church.
Also praying that He sends more missionaries to
the much needed country of Greece and the rest of the world.

For the rest of the week…
Posting something; starting a possible book;
going to W*l-M*rt for fabric & yarn;
keeping up the house; a trip to the chiropractor (hopefully);
working on matching jumpers for Christmas pictures,
a Christmas skirt, and sashes for the children involved in
a "Keepers At Home" group we recently started;
getting out to invite the neighbors to our Christmas Pig Pickin' at church;
working on instrument arrangements;
busy cross-stitching my best friend's gift;
responding to some letters, comments and email
s;
spend extra time with my wonderful Savior;
and whatever else the Lord sees fit to send my way.

A picture I’d like to share...

A flower I found at Fort Fisher and a Scripture I added...

Have a great week!

Dear Alexandra,

I recently happened upon your Daybook and fell in love with the concept. Though married and now a matron rather than a maiden, I still wish to participate and I invite you to read my blog if you wish (seeing as you asked for a link if someone was going to participate.)

I pray God's blessings upon you in your journey.

Love in Christ,
Desiree Smith
