Young Maiden's Daybook - December 21

Today…
December 21, 2009

Outside my window…

The sun is shining bright on the 1st day of winter!

I am thinking…
Of how much I need to get done before Friday!
So much to do, so little time Ü.

I am thankful…
For the Lord's longsuffering with us.
And that He takes the time to speak to us
and gently draws us close to Him.

I am wearing...
Pink "60's style" flower dress.

I am reading…
2 Chronicles, Proverbs, Ezekiel, Mark;
"Fascinating Truths" by James Knox
"The Lost Cause Series" by James Knox
"Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris
"Choosing Gratitude" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss with Mama ;o)
"Passionate Housewives Desperate For God"
by Jennie Chancey & Stacy McDonald

I am creating…

a wool shawl (I finally got more yarn!),
homemade Christmas gifts for my immediate family,
and a list of things to make for
my etsy shop.

One of my favorite things…
Christmastime!!! I'm so glad that it's here again!
Christmas lights, trees, nativity scenes, eggnog... ah!

For education this week…

"homecollege" a.k.a Daughter at Home University =)
I'm looking at different mission boards and
planning to study for their requirements.
I'm going to start studying nursing/medical skills,
as I'm really starting to get ready for the mission field.

A keeper at home skill I am learning/using...
Budgeting... having self-control!!!
Remembering "If I live like no one else now,
than later I can live like no one else".

A spiritual lesson I'm learning...
That I should feed myself spiritually more than physically.
In fact, I'm thinking of committing myself to being sure
to read God's Word every time I eat food... or atleast as often as.

A godly character trait I plan to work on…
Staying in prayer and more Bible studying.

Scripture I am memorizing…
"Who can find a virtuous woman?
for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her,
so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax,
and worketh willingly with her hands...
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household,
and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it:
with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms."
Proverbs 31:10-17 with my online friend.
In fact, since we're memorizing most of Proverbs 31 together,
I'm planning on writing it out on my wall like I did when I
was memorizing 1 Corinthians 13 about Charity. Ü

I'm praying for…
The Lord's guidance through my life.
That He would show me His Truths from His Word,
and help me to be forgiving and have grace toward others.
The Lord to bless and to grow our church.
Also praying that He sends more missionaries to
the much needed country of Greece and the rest of the world.

For the rest of the week…
Getting ready for my favorite holiday!!;
our Hot Chocolate service on Wednesday;
preparing for Youth Night next Sunday;
hopefully getting a new dishwasher put in;
getting some more Christmas gifts done (quickly!);
composing more steel guitar arrangements;
responding to some letters, comments and email
s;
spend extra time with my wonderful Savior;
and whatever else the Lord sees fit to send my way.

A picture I’d like to share...

The lovely, cozy scarf my Gramma crocheted me for Christmas...

It's so soft and I love it a lot. Thanks Gramma!!

Have a great week!

After all the snow and cold, bitter temperatures, we are finally getting some sunshine too! :D

The dress you were wearing sounds BEAUTIFUL!

Next to Fourth of July, I love Christmas, too!

I am working on self-control, as well. Along with not being judgmental.

I like the idea of painting Proverbs 31 out on your wall. I might do that as well. But as a picture to remind me of the person I want to be.

The scarf looks cozy and beautiful, too!

Have a Merry Christmas!
