Yesterday I recieved my cap & gown!
I thought I'd share a picture of it...
Here's the tassel up close :)
Today I (and Stephani) tried it on. :-)
(I'm glad to have figured out how the cap goes on!)
I hope to get my senior pictures
in it sometime this week (maybe next)!
Well, I just thought I'd stop in and share!
I was excited to get it!!!
I hope you all are having a good week.

Young Maiden's Daybook- March 30
Today…
March 30, 2009
Outside my window…
The sun is shining brightly after
a very windy night!
I am thinking…
Can it already be the end of March???
I am thankful for…
God's Word.
I love reading and studying what
the Lord Almighty has to say!
I am wearing…
Khaki skirt and blue shirt.
I am reading…
2 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, Habbakuk, 2 Timothy;
"Shadow of the Almighty" by Elisabeth Elliot
"The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey
I am creating…
My graduation speech
One of my favorite things…
Pens!!!
I just bought a new one at Staples
and am loving it! It's a Hyper-G.
For education this week…
Bye bye Literary Analysis!!!
This should be my last week of Advanced Biology,
and I still have a bit of Modern Greek.
A keeper at home skill I am using…
Lots of crocheting!
A spiritual lesson I’m learning…
Meditating on God's Word.
A godly character trait I plan to work on…
Charity... suffereth long, is kind, envieth not, vaunteth not itself,
isn't puffed up, behaveth not unseemly, seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, rejoiceth not in iniquity,
rejoiceth in truth, beareth all things, believeth all things,
hopeth all things, endureth all things, and never faileth!
Scripture I am memorizing…
Ecclesiastes 5:7
"For in the multitude of dreams and many words
there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God."
2 Timothy 2:19
"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his.
And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
I am praying for…
Family, our church, and friends
to grow spiritually.
For the rest of the week…
Finishing up school, crocheting afghans,
preparing for our Crucifixion music night,
and Park Day Friday (and pizza night :)
A picture I’d like to share…
I copied this from my Economics book last month.
I thought it was quite funny--
Have a wonderful week!

Week In Review...
I thought I'd pop in really quick
and share about this week.
(To avoid having 2 daybook posts in a row 8-)
This week was a rather relaxing one.
Thankfully, I did get a lot accomplished, education-wise :)
I wrote my last essay for Literary Analysis,
did 2 weeks worth of Advanced Biology,
and did a detailed outline of my graduation speech!
We also ordered my cap and gown!
I choose a black one and a pink/white tassel.
I also ordered a capo for my guitar!!
I'd been planning on buying one for some time,
& I found a very good deal on ebay! :)
Anyway, I thought I'd share a few
favorite pictures from this week...
Our dog with one of her favorite toys!
Teaching piano to my favorite little man :)
My friend, Stephani, and our dog, Suzie.
Yesterday after we made pizza,
all 3 of the dogs came and tried to find
any little thing we may've dropped on the floor! lol dogs!
Today we may be going to our friends' house.
If so, Stephani and I will probably crochet
and practice some songs for upcoming servies.
(We're scheduled to sing twice next month.)
Well, I hope you all enjoyed your week
and have a great weekend!
"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:"
Isaiah 40:2-3a
and share about this week.

Young Maidens Daybook - March 23
Today...
March 23, 2009
Outside my window…
The sun is trying to peek through a dark sky!
It's earlier than when I usually rise.
(not really on purpose... I woke up from pain)
I am thinking…
God is SO good to me!
His love really amazes me,
and I'm so undeserving of it!
I am thankful for…
resources to help pain :)
And being able to take
everything to God in prayer!
I am wearing…
Uh... pajamas still.
And a blue jacket over them.
I am reading…
2 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, 1 Timothy (KJB);
"Tortured for Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand
"The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey
and about to start reading...
"The Shadow of the Almighty" by Elisabeth Elliot
I am creating…
Crocheted afghans.
Not much else, really.
One of my favorite things…
My instruments!
I love writing hymn arrangements
for piano, as well as quartets for
violin, guitar, & banjo... so fun!
For education this week…
Apologia Advanced Biology,
Rosetta Stone Modern Greek,
I need to write my Literary Analysis essay,
and really sit down and think about my graduation speech!
A keeper at home skill I am using/learning…
Being good with children...
A spiritual lesson I’m learning…
Longsuffering and being content,
even through all my physical problems.
I know that
"They that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength ..."
Joel 2:13
"And rend your heart, and not your garments,
and turn unto the LORD your God:
for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger,
and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."
I am praying for…
Charity in myself, for our church not to become lukewarm,
for the Holy Spirit to give Pastor the power and passion to preach.
For the rest of the week…
I teach piano tomorrow, schoolwork, respond to comments and emails,
crocheting, Friday pizza night, preparing for our upcoming
Crucifixion Sunday sacred music night.
A picture I’d like to share...
This is one of my 8/9 panel afghans so far...
Up close...
I only have 3 panels sewn together so far.
I'm almost done making the 4th one. ;o)
Have a great week!

Happy Vernal Equinox!
LOL :)
I thought I'd pop in and say 'Happy Spring',
since tomorrow is the first official day.
Here's a cake I made for the occassion...
I was finally able to use all my new
cake decorating accessories!
It took me 2 hours to frost and decorate...
good thing I'm ambidextrous!
(One hand would get really tired, so I'd
just switch to the other one :)
I made homemade 'Wilton Buttercream Frosting'
and I never want to use storebought again!
(I LOVE it! Much easier to decorate with!)
The filling between the two layers is blue.
No one will know until tomorrow when we eat it 8-)
At first I was going to make a "Happy Friday" cake,
but I looked and noticed tomorrow's the 1st of spring.
So tomorrow's forcast is:
Park day (Stephani and I crochet and chat),
Cake day (finally get to eat it!),
Pizza night (Stephani and I cook them and clean),
and...
a Cool spring night (farewell to winter)
I hope you all enjoy your Friday
and first day of spring tomorrow!
"For, lo, the winter is past...
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds is come..."
Song of Solomon 2:11a, 3:12a

Young Maiden's Daybook: March 16
Today...
March 16, 2009
Outside my window…
It's a rather cloudy, chilly day.
I am thinking…
My cup of hot chocolate is very yummy!
I am thankful for…
The privilage of prayer...
being able to approach God Almighty
and cast our cares on Him for He cares for us.
I am wearing…
My blue checkered dress
and my hair in 2 braids...
(so glad the layers are long enough to stay in braids now)
I am reading…
2 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, 2 Thessalonians (KJB);
"Tortured for Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand
"The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey
I am creating…
...fixing the mistake I made on an afghan
and, also, need to hem a dress I made Saturday.
One of my favorite things…
Hot beverages!
(hot cocoa, coffee, tea... YUM!)
For education this week…
I'M FINISHED WITH GOVERNMENT & ECONOMICS!!! Yea!
I need to write 1 last essay in Literary Analysis,
keep up in Advanced Biology, finish Modern Greek,
and finish writing my graduation speech.
A keeper at home skill I am using/learning…
Being 'good with children'.
A spiritual lesson I’m learning…
Becoming a prayer warrior.
The Lord's really been convicting me that since
there may not be much I can do physically,
I have no reason that I cannot spend "extra" time in prayer!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I am praying for…
Charity in myself.
For our church (and myself) not to become lukewarm,
but for God to set His people on fire.
For the rest of the week…
Getting closer to the end of finishing school,
Park Day Friday, make a cake,
work on choosing or writing an offeratory piece,
work on my mom & I's music cd,
and Stephani & I's music cd, and hem 2 dresses.
A picture I’d like to share...

Are You a Wild Grape?
{photo courtesty allposters.com}
About a month ago, I was brought to tears in my quiet time.
I thought I'd share those tear-provoking thoughts.
Here's what I read:
Isaiah 5:
"1. ...My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
2. And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof,
and planted it with the choicest vine,
and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein:
and he looked that it should bring forth grapes,
and it brought forth wild grapes.
3. And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah,
judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
4. What could have been done more to my vineyard,
that I have not done in it? wherefore,
when I looked that it should bring forth grapes,
brought it forth wild grapes?"
I am in His vineyard!
Verse 2 explains how He took care of it,
protected it, and expected good things of it.
And yet, it yielded wild grapes.
I looked back and saw how Christ 'planted' me,
took care of me, protected me, provides for me.
He expects me to bear Him fruit!
But how many times I have failed Him.
So many times I've grieved Him.
In verse 4, He asks "What could have been done
more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it?"
What more could Christ have done for me?
He's already done so much for us...
how much have we done for Him?
Oh, how we need to really be living for Christ
and bringing forth fruit for Him!

Young Maidens Daybook...
Today…
March 9, 2009
Outside my window…
The sun is shining brightly in a beautiful blue sky.
Unfortunately, winter is leaving... but I like spring, too.
I am thinking…
Of what I'm going to eat soon...
maybe some granola :)
I am thankful for…
God's forgiveness and mercy!
If we had gotten justice, we'd surely be lost!
I am wearing…
Khaki skirt and red eyelit shirt...
I am reading…
2 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, 1 Thessalonians;
The Apocrypha (currently in Wisdom of Solomon),
"The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey
I am creating…
More crocheted afghans and such...
I really need to sew some more dresses soon.
One of my favorite things…
Our wonderful church and church family!
For education this week…
Finishing up Economics and Government!!!
(And possibly Literary Analysis)
A keeper at home skill I am using…
Other than the usual cooking and baking,
I'm not too sure...
A spiritual lesson I’m learning...
Being soul conscious!
I really need to be out winning souls...
especially since I'm going to the mission field!
A godly character trait I plan to work on…
Charity and being a soul winner.
Scripture I am memorizing…
I'm afraid nothing new...
maybe I'll come across one this week.
I am praying for…
Spiritual guidance,
and for God to provide chances to witness.
For the rest of the week…
The King James Bible Conference until Wednesday,
teaching piano tomorrow, and finishing up 1/2 of school.
A picture I’d like to share…
a delight of where we currently live :)
the beach we visit often.

Week In Review...
The past week or so has been so busy and just flew by!
(I thought I should make a brief post so I didn't
have 3 daybooks posted in a row!)
Most of the week, I was very 'booked' with schoolwork. ;)
This upcoming week I'll finish Economics & Government! YAY!
Last Monday it actually snowed some!
I thought it rather funny since I said in my daybook
post that I dearly longed for some...
how sweet that the Lord remembers the 'little' things!
I loved looking at it out the windows
(and going to get the mail in it)!
Oh yes, and we had yummy homemade bread...
YUM! We also made some delicious granola...
which I'm enjoying right now :)
Other than lots of schoolwork,
we had park day on Friday...
Afterwards, our friends came over and Stephani and I
did schoolwork, crocheted, and made pizza :)
Yesterday was our first night of our KJB Conference!
Dr. J. D. Herchenhahn is our speaker for it... he's a great blessing!
Yesterday he focused a lot on being 'soul conscious'...
how our job is to be bringing souls to Christ.
It was a great message!
Well, I just thought I'd share about this week.
I hope you all enjoyed yours!
